Bonehead Move of the Year!

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

This link takes you to the story and video on the White House’s incredibly stupid and thoughtless and expensive photo op, whereby they buzzed New York with a 747 and fighter jets (thanks, Lily).  Of course, this sent New Yorkers into a 9/11 deja vu panic.  The only problem with the link is that the next video is of that idiotic maniac, Glen Beck.  That’s what you get when you risk your sanity and IQ by venturing to the dark side: Faux News…

Where do Scumbags Come from?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Now that the first person convicted in Jane Creba’s murder has been charged as an adult, we are learning more about him.  One thing we can see is that his mother is an evil, horrible woman who likely came from an evil, horrible background herself.  As I’ve written many times in this blog, I’ve yet to see a case where a “bad person” could not be explained via his/her upbringing.  There are the occasional cases where a child is truly “born bad,” but in almost all cases all we have to do is look at the parenting.

But as I always say, this only helps us to explain why such people turn into monsters.  It in no way excuses them for becoming monsters because many other people who come from horrible backgrounds do not become monsters like them.  So although I hope something horrible happens to the mother described in the story in the Responses section, I have no sympathy for her evil son.  My only fear is that he is going to come out even worse after serving his ridiculously short prison term.

A past blighted, a future unknown

A few Headlines and Updates

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

I’ve written before about the shame of Canada’s nanny abuse system, something that has been going on for years and which the governments has known about for that long.  Once again, it wasn’t until the Star (Dale Brazao and Robert Cribb) made the scandal public that the government finally went into action.  Unfortunately, I’m predicting that a) any action the gov’t does take will be far too slow, b) the gov’t will not enact tough enough rules nor enforce them adequately, and c) the gov’t will not go after the existing scumbags who have already ruined thousands of lives.  The Responses section contains the rest of the story:

Stretch that Critical Thinking!

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Below are two stories that have nothing in common except one thing: Most people who read them lack the critical and reflective thinking skills to be able to consider various sides of the issues.  Most people employ “Black and White Thinking” and can take only one or the other side.  There unfortunately isn’t that much information available on each story so I can’t say one way or the other.  But I can at least contemplate the various complexities of each case.  Can YOU? (The Responses section contains each story)

Right Wing, Left Wing, They’re ALL Assholes on City Council

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Seriously, there’s something in the water at Toronto City Hall (and others, such as Vaughn), that makes councilors become irrational, ineffective, and just plain insensitive to the plights of their constituents once they get the golden ticket into their golden trough.  Waste czar and Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker is the newest asshole on council who expects far too much from the citizens and far too little from the people we pay to deliver our services.  Read the article in the Responses below to see how he’s screwing up our blue/green bin system even worse than he and his minions already have.  For the record, I have the smallest garbage bin and largest blue bin and they still jerk me around.

And what an ironic waste of plastic these small garbage bins are.  Have you seen them?  From the outside they look small, but on the inside they hold far, far less than you’d think.  What a horrible design.  I bet the idiot who came up with that design got a huge performance bonus.   Message to De Baeremaeker: When I see you, I will have a nice treat from my green bin ready to exchange hands…

*** Blue bins have to go big or go (back into) home ***

And if City Councilors are Entitled Arguments for Birth Control, what do you think our Premier is?  Instead of enacting legislation to demand that companies and retailers become less wasteful, McGuinty is telling us to stage our own protest at the stores.  What an asshole.  Seriously, he wants us to take products out of their packaging and leave them at the store.  It deserves repeating: What an asshole.  Don’t believe me?  Read the Responses for the rest of the story:

*** McGuinty’s solution: Leave waste at the stores ***

This is what one week’s worth of garbage looks like in Pascal Murphy’s household. It’s less than most of us produce in just one day.

Consumers should leave behind boxes and wrapping in stores to reduce waste and encourage companies to decrease their packaging, says Premier Dalton McGuinty.

In the wake of the Star series, Beat the Wrap, McGuinty yesterday said that while the province has no plans to legislate changes, Ontarians can do the right thing on their own.

“There’s an important and broader public debate when it comes to packaging,” the premier told reporters on Earth Day.

When the Monsters are on the Wrong Side…

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

As anyone who has read my blog knows, I have the utmost respect for most police.  However, the RCMP and CSIS have screwed up far too often.  This is perhaps the most infamous example of the RCMP at its worst–not just for murdering an innocent person but for lying about it.  Read more about it in the Responses section.

Yes, Pure Evil CAN Look this Pathetic

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

The story in the Responses section depicts what appears to be one of the worst cases of sexual abuse against children in the history of Canada.  All we can hope is that “prison justice” catches up to this Argument for the Death Penalty, since we know the Canadian Just-Ass system will do nothing to him.  I just paid my 2008 taxes yesterday, and knowing that part of my very large “contribution” to Revenue Canada is paying to house this monster makes me sick…

The Secrets of Life Explained

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

I don’t usually pass on these messages (I get so many), but this one is cute (not the most clever, but cute):

On the first day, God created the dog and said: “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.”

The dog said: “That’s a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?”

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said: “Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.”

The monkey said: “Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?”

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said: “You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.”

The cow said: “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years… How about twenty and I’ll give back the other forty?”

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created humans and said: “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years.”

But the human said: ‘Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?’

“Okay,” said God, “You asked for it.”

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

McGuinty is KILLING me (and all of you, too)

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

I’ve never had anything good to say about our Ontario Premier, Liberal Dalton McGuinty–type his name into the SEARCH window on the left and you’ll see what I think of him.  Of course, because Conservative Mike Harris is one of the most evil men on the planet and definitely the worst Premier ever, and NDP-er Bob Rae was the second worst Premier, McGuinty will keep getting elected for as long as he wants.  But never forget that he is a scumbag.  Read the Responses belo to see what he’s done this time.  Here’s a hint–the Headline:

McGuinty’s broken promise on toxic chemicals

Keeping Things in Blurry Perspective

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I really hope someone addresses this very serious issue raised in the Star, about the finding that “More than one in five Canadian soldiers and police officers deployed to Afghanistan leave the force with post-traumatic stress or other psychiatric problems, and that figure is rapidly rising.“  The Responses section contains the rest of this terrible story.

But I want to stress that virtually none of the KIDS who goes through the Children’s Aid Services in Ontario (or probably anywhere in Canada) gets proper treatment for the TRAUMAS that they’ve suffered at the hands of abusive, neglectful, ignorant, and/or should-be-shot-or-sterilized “parents.”  And do you know what the result is of our government’s failure to help these poor, vulnerable children?  Read the newspaper every day and you will see one more example.  When someone seriously fucks up a kid from a young age and then no one helps that kid, he/she is often going to fuck over someone else, including him/herself.
