I consider myself an excellent driver and used to drive fast most of the time.  But I don’t think I ever needed to drive over 50 km/hour over the speed limit (aside from one long, isolated stretch of straight country road near my cottage, where there was literally nothing around that could suddenly pop up).  So I thought the “stunt driving” laws were a good, necessary move in order to get rid of these reckless assholes who routinely kill innocent drivers.

Then there was the story a few months back about a 62 year-old grandmother whose case was thrown out because she was passing a large truck on the highway.  In her case, I agreed that she should not have been charged with the crime because she wasn’t “stunt driving” and was not driving recklessly in any way.

However, legal experts have said that, if the Crown had wanted to win their case and defeat the claim that the law was NOT unconstitutional–that’s how it was thrown out–all they had to was argue that the law trumped individual rights because it SAVES lives.  Of course, the incompetent Crown did not do that and so now all such cases will be tossed out because precedent has been set.  Did they not do their homework before introducing the law and charging 15,000-plus drivers since 2007?!  How many tens of millions of dollars will be lost on policing and court because of their incompetence?

Either this guy’s lawyer is amazing or the crown and judge are completely incompetent!  Read the COMMENTS section below for a Star story on how this murderer has avoided having some critical facts kept from the jury.  How the hell is some of this information NOT relevant to the case?!

I’ve written about the Jane Creba murder a number of times, especially with respect to the conviction of JSR, even though he didn’t fire the bullet that killed innocent Jane.  Well, apparently the same criterion that applied to the conviction of JSR–he didn’t have to be the actual shooter to be found guilty, as long as he was involved in the events leading up to/associated with the murder–does not apply to four other “people” involved in the slaughter.  Please read the COMMENTS section to read about how our just-ass system failed once again (thanks for the heads up, CM!).

People who read this blog know that I consider former Ontario Premier MIKE HARRIS to be the worst POLITICIAN ever to disgrace this country on any level.  But you know what’s worse than someone who is as evil, petty, spiteful, incompetent, deceitful and hypocritical as Harris was?  Someone who comes in and refuses to improve any of the severe damage that Harris inflicted on Ontarians–especially Torontonians–at every level of our existence.  McGuinty has not only failed to improve anything, he has made matters worse.  This story from the Star (in the Comments section) shows just how impotent McGuinty is:

For the record, I did not think there was anything wrong at all with Carrie Prejea’s answer to that idiot, Perez Hilton’s question during the Miss USA pageant (aside from a few minor points below).  No, I don’t watch this crap, but of course I heard about it and then followed the story on YouTube etc.

What the hell was that question doing in a BEAUTY PAGEANT?  Did they not learn from the Miss Teen USA Pageant?!  Okay, so it makes for good “train wreck entertainment,” but…And what the hell was a gay man doing as a judge of a female pageant?

In any event, I disagree with Prejea’s opinion but I thought she stated it tactfully and diplomatically (aside from saying, “In MY country…” and aside from her reference to “opposite marriages”).  It was HER opinion and she was honest about it while trying not to be disrespectful or hateful toward anyone.  Why should everyone support gay marriage?

People who know me know that I am extremely liberal and very supportive of gay rights.  And if gays/lesbians want to enter into that disaster zone called marriage, let them.  But I don’t think everyone should be expected to support this.  I think people who are against it should simply “live and let live,” but they don’t need to support gay marriage.

And of course, Hilton is the biggest hypocrite in the world, for calling someone a “faggot.”  And make no mistake, he said it BEFORE he got punched (as this clip shows at 37 seconds). That’s far uglier than anything Prejea said.

In any event, Prejea’s original answer was fine, while Hilton’s response to it was as offensive and moronic as he is every day of his life.  But she should have realized that she had her moment in the sun and, being unintelligent, she should not agree to be the poster child for anti-gay marriage or the Christian fundamentalist right.  All she has done so far is embarrass herself greatly, as she did in her pathetically petulant response to that softballer, Larry the King of Senility.

The article from the Star in the Comments section below covers how she crashed from grace after her hypocrisy and lack of “purity” was revealed.  I normally don’t care about this kind of gossipy crap, but it’s a great reflection of where our society has headed.  It captures so much of the modern phenomenon of “celebrity” and “role models.”  And you wonder why our planet is so fucked?

If this weren’t my country, I’d laugh at the sheer hypocrisy of Canada’s PM, for urging journalists to “shine light into dark corners” of government affairs during a speech late Saturday.  That is, he refused to take any questions from reporters covering the event!!  Read the Comments section below for the entire Star story on this king of les douches…

I’ve written before about how our federal government has become less and less accountable while eroding the rights of Canadians.  This recent story on the claims made by a very brave man, Richard Colvin, that Canada knowingly sent innocent Afghans back home to be tortured, is further evidence of how corrupt our government has become.  I thought it was horrible under Chretien, but Harper is proving that his Conservatives can be every bit as terrible as the corrupt and entitled Liberals before them. Okay, two quickies:

1) Due to poor planning, some clinics have two much of the H1N1 vaccination, while others do not have enough.  Okay, this can happen.  But what really drives me crazy is that they didn’t respond appropriately each day when they realized that they had too much of the vaccination at certain clinics.  That is, they could have easily couriered the excess vaccination to clinics they KNEW needed more of it.  You see, it has only a 24-hour shelf life and thus must be used the same day.  One more example of your tax dollars being wasted.

2) I really hope that people do their homework before voting for Toronto’s next mayor. Furious George has been a BUST in his political career.  He’s partly to blame for the e-Health scandal.  He’s part of the government bringing us the hugely inappropriate HST that will cost people so much more money just to live.  And if people voted against John Tory in the past because of his former ties to Mike the Axe Harris, then we should not be hypocrites and should link Smitherman to all the crap that Premier McGuinty has caused the province.

Okay, so Connie Nydam is soooo yesterday’s news.  This story from the weekend is some of the craziest shit you’ll ever see.  Now THIS idiot deserves to lose her license for life and deserves to lose her freedom for years.  I just wish she would have stayed in the car after it crashed into the water; that would have rid us of one more Argument for Birth Control.

And this guy is such a scumbag.  Remember the miracle child?  The girl who was supposed to die but somehow survived?  The girl whose parents were going to donate her organs so another child could live?  The parents who caused some real ugliness at the hospital?  The parents who are wannabe celebrities?  The father who was arrested for robbery and assault?  The asshole father who brought his very ill daughter to court for attention and sympathy?  The Argument for Birth Control who is pretending that he HAS TO exploit his extremely ill/weak daughter–while bringing along his publicist to court in a stretch limo?

And this monster should be put to death for murdering that poor little girl.  Simple.  I know the girl’s mother likely didn’t kill the girl, but I wonder how many monsters she has subjected her girls to over their lifetimes.  I want to learn more about this story…
