One More Difference Between the US and Canada
A teacher in the US gets a 20-year sentence (4 of which MUST be spent in jail) for having sex with her 13 year-old male student.
In Canada, a 35 year-old “father” gets FOUR years for sexually abusing his three year-old daughter and putting the images on the net for other sick fucks. In Canada, that translates to about one year in jail–even less depending on how long he had to wait in jail prior to his trial (it was reduced by 28 months but I don’t know how long he was in jail). The only good news is that the judge added another three years to the sentence. But that is still not enough. The original judge should be fired. Canada sucks…

The Ontario Court of Appeal has increased by three years “a manifestly unfit” four-year sentence imposed on a man who sent out real time Web images of him abusing his 4-year-old daughter. “The fact that the victim was the respondent’s own child is the most egregious breach of trust there can be,” wrote Justice Kathryn Feldman for a three-judge panel.
In October 2006, a Toronto undercover police officer posing as a pedophile began communicating with the St. Thomas man through a well-known child abuse chat room.
The man sent the officer 147 child porn images and said that he had two daughters, 4 and 12. He then sent 25 explicit photos depicting of his youngest daughter, several in which he’s touching her genitals.
“When the officer attempted to terminate the chat, the respondent said he had a surprise,” the judge wrote. Using his Web camera, the man transmitted three pictures of his daughter, naked and bent over a chair, while he sexually abused her. The man was arrested that day and his daughter rescued by authorities.
Police found he had 3,454 child porn photos and 58 videos as well as 2,096 child nudity images and 10 child nudity videos. He pled guilty to two counts of sexually assaulting his daughter, three of making child pornography using his daughter, and one each of possessing and distributing child pornography. In December 2007, the trial judge imposed a sentence of four years, reduced by 28 months for the pre-trial custody the 35-year-old man had already served
