As readers of this blog (and its former incarnation before it was hacked a while back) know, I have held extensive discussions with various people at the Star and other media outlets and one thing I know is that they never run a controversial story without vetting it through a plethora of lawyers first. They have to be particularly careful whenever criticizing the police, who have one of the most powerful unions and team of lawyers on the planet.So for anyone who thinks the Star has misrepresented the story of a man who had his arm broken by a police officer, who faced no real discipline (http://rationalradical.com/2010/11/when-police-and-the-siu-deserve-no-slack/), please rest assured that they had to get all the facts they could before going to press.
Is the Star biased? Certainly. We saw it in the recent mayoral election and in every other election held in this city/province/country. Do they present a story in a certain manner to highlight some points while downplaying others? Yup. All media do all of that. That is why I wrote about one story the Star included in their series on lack of police accountability, in which I said I don’t think this case belongs in the same category, unless we’re talking about the officer’s superiors and colleagues, who failed her miserably (http://rationalradical.com/2010/10/why-i-cut-police-slack/).
But there’s a huge difference between bias or “spin” and lying or a misrepresentation of fact. Specifically, I have done some investigating and have found no evidence to suggest any other version of events regarding the motorist who got beaten up and received a broken arm by the cops, other than what the Star presented. Maybe he was more lippy than suggested? I don’t know. But the fact is that he was beaten up for no reason, the SIU did a horrible job bordering on incompetent and/or criminal, and none of the officers involved was held accountable. If anyone can provide any evidence to contradict any of this, please present it.
However, my investigation failed to reveal any evidence to lend credence to the claims that Cadieux is part of some Aryan Brotherhood at his (former) police station. Maybe such a racist group exists there. Maybe there are some truly racist bad apples there. But it is not something that has been pursued by the relevant people. If anyone has solid proof to that effect, I highly recommend that you present it to those who can possibly do something about it.Trust me, if there is a genuine story like that, the Star will pursue it.
Finally, I have it on very good authority that the photo of Officer Cadieux (below on the left) was taken entirely independent of anything one of the recent contributors to this site, York Regional Police, may have said. Trust me on that. End of story.
S’quite interesting what’s been happening here these past few days. I do have to note one quick thing – my agreement of the fact that the good ol’ constable looking like Norton shouldn’t necessarily mean that I agree with what’s being said. I do have to still think critically here – if you look like someone, then you just happen to look like them. It’s not a fair point to say that someone is a NAZI because they look like a man who played a NAZI in a movie.
Also, to make one last final point – I would go to the extent of saying that regarding some of the stuff i’ve read, i’ve begun to contemplate the fact that perhaps this story isn’t even the biggest one on this area. It’s a nice start, but to be honest, i’ve got to wonder – this definitely isn’t the worst case of violence i’ve seen, not even close. You’ve got a guy who was being pissy with the cops, getting out of his car, getting in their face about his rights, while the cops are trying to figure out if his car got stolen – i’m not condoning the constable’s actions in anyway btw. I’m just pointing out that maybe the ATTACKATTACKATTACK mentality that i normally have might be better off left at home for this one. Just seems to me that if the cops pull you over, repeatedly getting out of what may be a stolen car and getting pissy with them is a good way to get your ass beat – Toronto or not.

I’m a big guy, i’ve been in numerous scrapes and fights. I’ve had my head busted open and still continued on like nothing was wrong. But i’ve also had my arm broken – and I don’t care what anybody has the indecency to tell me, I’m not going to be yelling at a cop about my rights while my arm is broken and i’m laying sideways in a cop car. That’s when you STFU and figure out how to stop screaming.
What is getting me riled up is the fact that I just realized – why are we comparing this dude to Norton in the first place?
How would the constable have even KNOWN he was Jewish? That dude doesn’t look Jewish to me. I went a Catholic school for a large part of my life, and the dude looks like one of my old teachers actually. What’s getting my goat is that on the last post, James Gireld posted about the “Aryan Brotherhood” and then all of a sudden the commenter York Regional Police Officer was off to the races with it. Then, A Concerned Jew posts up the matching pictures, and here we go.

Well, Blade, we’ll see whether any of the people who raised all of these concerns continue to do so and provide specific evidence to support their claims after my specific appeal for such information. As for Orbst’s conduct during the arrest, I agree that he was likely mouthy and made the situation much worse than it should have been. I have written before that I believe many problems with the police could be avoided if those being arrested would simply do what they’re told. However, I think what happened to Orbst goes far beyond what was reasonable on so many levels in addition to the broken arm.
As for the comparisons with Ed Norton, they began, as you noted, with an accusation made by a few writers. I stressed that I cannot verify the accuracy of their claims and subsequently addressed this issue. Again, we’ll see if any specific evidence is provided beyond what has been alleged thus far. As stated above, my investigation failed to reveal any active examinations of claims of an racist group in the police force. This does not mean that no such investigations are occurring or that such groups do not exist. But my own investigation over the past 24 hours certainly did cast a significant amount of doubt on the veracity of certain writers’ allegations. The validity or reliability of their identities and claims will therefore be considered suspect until further notice.
However, I doubt that York Regional Police Officer “was off to the races” after James Gireld’s post. The nature of his/her posts suggests a longstanding problem with the police in District 4 and possibly with Officer Cadieux in particular. He/she didn’t merely make all of this up after reading James Gireld’s message. They may even know each other in person or from the online postings.
To be fair what kind of evidence will prove he is a Neo Nazi? Does he have body tattoos? Does he have friends who are Neo Nazis? What kind of proof can be forwarded? Without a surveillance of the guy what can be done?
I find his appearance somewhat disturbing. His resemblance to that character is terrifying and as someone who works with and for JDL Toronto/Montreal I can confirm that “Derek Vinyard” (played by Edward Norton) is a figure head for Neo-Nazi types and they do emulate him.
However, it is correct- Just because he looks like him, dresses like him, cuts his hair like him, grows a goatee like him it’s only “circumstantial” evidence. But I ask you this: If you were convicted of a “hate crime” would you appear in court like that?
Also, the JDL and many Jewish groups have received hate mail from a particular sect of Sh’ia Muslims in York Region. Members live in District 2 and 4. The York Regional Police deemed one letter “not hate crime/ no threat found”. This letter would make the most hardened Neo-Nazi quiver. There are huge issues with District 4. You need to contact the correct people and have them put it on record but most I speak to are terrified of the York Regional Police.
Also, Cst. Cadieux was involved in a vey controversial case where the defendant claimed he was called a “dirty Jew” and a claims a gun was planted. Of course no one can prove it and the guy was convicted BUT it makes you wonder. This case can be found on Newmarket Docket.
Yes, Sam, there may be many things highly suspicious when it comes to Officer Cadieux and other police in his division/district. However, I cannot simply make claims about him. I will pass on information gathered through proper investigation and will allow readers to post comments on this site. But I will not say that Cadieux is a racist without any supporting evidence that is not merely circumstantial. On the other hand, with all the postings on this topic, maybe someone will provide something of substance. In any event, there are definitely serious problems in that District 4, based on the numerous news stories coming out as of late, some of which you linked in another message and I already posted here a few months ago.

The whole YRP is corrupt and corroded because the lack of accountability. District 4 and 5 just happen to be the worse and totally out of control. And when they do something really wrong , what happens ? Nothing. Nada. They don’t have a license to kill, they have a license to murder. I won’t do The Star’s job for them. But the SIU was a fluff piece. They could have gone deeper and more forcefully. I already said Tella belongs to a sect of Hindu’s that despise Muslims. And someone should interview J. Spooner. Ask him why he resigned. We have a very dangerous officer roaming the streets of Ottawa right now. An officer that almost killed a man for being Muslim. He’ll eventually kill someone. If you really do know someone at The Star , here I’ll throw a few bones to get y’all started:
1) I will comment on what Sam said of the JDL on the other page. If anyone can put those pieces together (and it’s starting to emerge online- just research) it will be one of the most explosive stories in Canadian policing history. Bigger than the Big 6 of Toronto. This one is ridiculous in it’s scoop and involves police corruption like you won’t believe. It has fabrication of evidence, terrorism, antisemitism, screwing the “victims”, destruction of evidence, lying etc. Mark my words, a prominent Jewish figure will get maimed or killed due to police corruption. AND IT WILL HAPPEN SOON. Just remember this when I am gone.
2) This is something few know except I.A, a few officers and the people involved. A “Jewish” (I don’t know if the police believed they were Jewish or they were) couple were beaten by “The Aryan Boys” and one undercover officer at AMC, Vaughan. A witness testified that , while the undercover officer, was KO’ing the wife she was called a “dirty kike bitch”. Those notes disappeared and the witness threatened. In fact at the station the 5 officers did the infamous “York Region Police Note Shuffle” and got together to make sure their notes are correct in order to get away with the crime of a viscous assault. Problem is, 1/5 officers refused and turned his notes into I.A. Great right? Remember that was 1 out of the 5!!! 4 were ready to criminally doctor up notes. This is currently being “investigated” by I.A. There is a current Civil Suit Launched. Anyone care to investigate YRP and their infamous “notes”? The Star perhaps? So this is a nice scoop for you. Look into this story.
3) Officer #1847, District 4. Big steroid head. Shaved head. No problem? Wrong. Get someone at The Star to take a look at his sleeve tattoos. Nice huh? And don’t think it’s swastikas. Not that easy these days but he’s got some A.B tattoos.
4) Back to Constable Cadieux. Do you know how many times he’s been accused of planting drugs? Do you know he goes around with cannabis flakes in his pocket to sprinkle them so he gets “probable cause” to search a vehicle. Might want to look at Constable Baramakov also. etc. etc. And The Star might also want to look at why , when the evidence is accused of being planted, the case ends up in front of Justice J. KENKEL .In fact most of Cadiuex’s “trials” end up in front of him. That’s the Kangaroo court the Senior Crowns in Newmarket have going on.
5) Detective Terry Jordan- A close personal friend of the Chief LaBarge. LaBarge knew 1 year before the story hit the newspapers that he was screwing around with that sociopath. It was common knowledge at the station. She would come by with picnic baskets, and gifts for Det. Jordan. Everyone knew what he was going on and the fabrication of evidence , the writing letters to the Crown (in fact superstar senior Crown Attorney Rob Scott knew Det. Jordan was lying numerous times) etc. The Inspectors knew, the senior Crown’s knew etc. No one stopped it.In fact they gave him high fives and still do. His ‘punishment’ is…..? A f’ing joke. Do you know how common this is? It happens weekly. The CIB night shift is known as the “BJ Shift” because the woman come in vulnerable and are taken advantage of. You’ll here more Det. Terry Jordan like stories from Dist. 4 and 5 . Mark my words.
5)Sergeant Robert Penman- A close personal friend of Chief LaBarge (still is) whom ran a nice little brothel. He got charged right? Right ….but he was warned 3 days before hand and given time to get rid of his other side job- selling cocaine..mostly to cops. Yeah. Believe it. And his girl? Yvonne Regner. Married to a member of the Hell’s Angels (at the time she dated Robert) and sold cocaine with him. In fact she is still active but you might know her better as Ms. Dubois:

Think Italian politics and now think Fantino. It’s truly turning into a Pizza Parliament. In fact they have to lay so far off the Luigi’s and Mario’s that there is no crime being investigated in York (since they do most of it). Beat cops were told to hammer Domestics and DUI or the courts would be empty. Ask any Newmarket lawyer.

Is it really suprising that there are Nazi types in Vaughan? I thoght it was common knowledge. The worst kept secrets from District 4 (they don’t care if it is known because these guys are cowboys, plain and simple)
1) Every single female who walks in to complain about a domestic is expected to offer sexual services. The police are very aggressive in soliciting them and often time try to take them to “Weg’s” across the street to interview them to “calm them down”. More than a few woman have made that KGB statement with a few beers in them. This is known to most. No secret here. The more a female offers the cop, the more charges will be laid. You can easily get your spouse with 10-20 charges easily.
2) The police make tons off tow truck drivers because they run a little “protection racket”. Some cops, usually the ones with short hair, crosses and muscles, can make up to $500-800 a week clean from tow truck drivers. If you don’t pay in Vaughan, you don’t play. It’s known as “No go Vaughan”. The cops have “their boys” who the make a few bucks off of and no one else gets in. It’s lucrative in Vaughan because of the number of accidents on 407 that require tow and Hwy. 7 is huge money maker due to accidents. The cops make a good amount of money off this and it’s basically a racket they run. If a cop makes (and these are the new ones) make $500 a week cash, that’s an extra $2,000 a month. Some of the more experienced officers can make, easily, $1000.00 cash per week. You ever wonder why these bums have so much money? Don’t get me stared on this one. District 4 runs like a mob and don’t think they shy away from this image. They love it that is why it attracts these Aryan types.

Just out of curiosity, why was that picture taken? Why would someone take a picture of this police officer? Was it a friend who sent it in? If it wasn’t the Star, who took it? I am curious about how the Star gets pictures of these officers. Any input will be appreciated. I thought the homes of police were guarded from public scrutiny.
Also, does anyone know how I can look up civil cases? I would like to investigate Claim#2 made by “York Regional Police”. Does anyone know how I can see lawsuits against the police or even police complaints?

I understand your sentiments, Blade. But as you note, this is a site for rational discussion. I allow people to reveal facts, opinions, and sometimes something about their personality. I cannot say for certain how much of York Region Police Officer’s claims have merit, but some of what he has posted has been verified through independent investigation. Of course, that does not necessarily mean that he has any inside information, since much of what he has posted can be found via the internet.
As for his arrogant/insulting tone and words, they are commonly found in people with certain traits which, unfortunately, reduce the credence one can pay to his claims. But I am keeping an open mind while remaining critical and skeptical.
As for your claims, R.Tucci, first let me thank you for your contributions. The problem is that, you’re right, there has been some pretty strong evidence that some police in certain divisions have engaged in illegal activities related to tow trucks, body shops, and bikers–I have first-hand knowledge of this and I know how high up the chain of command this runs, as in the government as well. And there have definitely been a number of verified cases of police taking advantage of assault victims or being stupid enough to be seduced by women into doing some pretty evil crap. Again, I have first-hand knowledge of some of these cases. However, that’s a far stretch from claiming that “Every single female who walks in to complain about a domestic is expected to offer sexual services.”
The picture was taken in the process of tying to interview Officer Cadieux, who declined to comment. It was apparently easy to find his address and nothing in the picture reveals his home location.
As for looking up civil cases, I guess you would have to go through the police. They could direct you, although I’m not sure if you really want them to know who you are, after reading about all of these allegations…
I was so disturbed reading this all. It is unbelievably disturbing. I feel like I was living with my eyes close. I know some claim may not be verified 100% yet but the “smell” of this is really bad. I can’t believe this is Canada???

Yes, I wrote about this story when it first came out and included the link you did as well. This is one case that seems 100% verified. And it’s a fact that the corrupt officer who ruined this man’s life got absolutely no punishment. Oh, I’m sorry, he was demoted to the position he had before his promotion, which he got AFTER it was known that he had engaged in malfeasance of the worst kind.
The new ‘mosque’ and infusion of ‘community’ money by some very extreme elements from Saudi Arabia and UAE into Vaughan (Maple new Islam center) have certainly made District 4 in York Regional Islam-Nazi police the new front line for the Islamic agenda in Canada. Trust me on that,.
