Some people may complain about the “gotcha” journalism that is prevalent among both the “mainstream media” and ordinary citizens with a cell phone. I don’t care about celebrities and I think paparazzi are parasites feeding a sick demand by sad people who care more about “fantasy figures” than their own neighbours, colleagues and even family sometimes.
However, how many times have bad things done be people in a position of “authority” been captured by ordinary citizens? And we know for a fact that, without video evidence, most of the allegations made against these people in a a position of “power” would be dismissed. That is truly fact with a long history behind it; in many cases, including the G20, the true victim was disbelieved and even charged with something at first. Only when video evidence subsequently appeared did they get some justice.
So, I am thankful to everyone who did the police’s and government’s job by providing evidence against this scumbag, “constable” Babak Andalib-Goortani, who “allegedly” beat a number of innocent victims during the G20 protests. Thank you for the link, Roberto. One thing, however, is that Andalib and the other officers were not found guilty of roughing up Tyndale, who the evidence shows was a bad guy; even his witnesses were found not credible at all, except for parts where their testimony actually supported the police’s version of events.
If anyone is interested, the website Roberto linked contains a lot of crazy back and forths among people supposedly connected to terrorist organizations and several members of the York Regional Police. I have been following that Maleki-Detective Gentili story for a while. I was in Israel and you wouldn’t believe how much attention that story got / gets. A lot of people watching. I am overseas and the internet sucks so I didn’t check for a while but I always check in with RR because you keep track of this police stuff.
Anyways, I wish someone would really write a concise story on what’s going on. I know a Jewish leader in Thornhill who talked to some of the participants involved and he said you could write a book on the story, which leads me to ask: Why hasn’t a paper picked it up? From reliable sources the police in York have done no good and it’s easily proven. Some of the stuff is purposefully deceitful but a lot of people are saying much of what’s posted is cops themselves. ‘Muddying the waters’ is what one person who talked to a person involved said. But I will say this: Removing one name- Detective Maurizio Gentili- but leaving the other cops name on complaints forum is really sketch.

Members working out of the York Regional Police Homicide Unit, with the assistance of members of the Ottawa Police Service, have arrested two Richmond Hill residents in connection with the January 21 murder of a 27-year-old Toronto man.
On Monday, February 21, 2011, Mohand MOHAMED, 31, of Richmond Hill, was arrested for FirstDegree Murder at a residence in the City of Ottawa. A Canada-Wide Warrant was issued for Mr. Mohamed on Friday, January 28, 2011, in connection with the murder of Arash Elijah BAKHTARYANI, 27, of Toronto.
The investigation led the York Regional Police Homicide Unit to the Ottawa area where Mr. Mohamed was arrested without incident with the assistance of the Ottawa Police Service. Also arrested was Maryam TORABIPOUR, 26, of Richmond Hill, for Accessory After the Fact to Murder.
Both accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
On Friday, January 21, 2011, at 11:15 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting at the Paradise Banquet Hall located at 7601 Jane Street in the City of Vaughan. Officers arrived on scene and located Mr. Bakhtaryani suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
