Forget Giambrone’s Sex Scandal; THIS TTC Douche Should be Fired…

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

In yet another example of the arrogance, graft and corruption that pervades every level of government and bureaucracy in Toronto and the rest of Canada, “A senior Toronto Transit Commission official helped his long-time female friend – an amateur photographer – get a plum contract taking photos of public meetings and proposed building sites.”  The COMMENTS section contains the rest of the Star story to this headline:

TTC paid executive’s friend $50,000 — Senior manager’s long-time female companion got plum job taking photos at meetings, building sites

According to those who know him, this guy is an entitled, arrogant asshole who saw nothing wrong about breaking or ignoring conflict of interest rules.  If you read the story below, you will see that he clearly lied about his numerous illegal or unethical actions and is now off work–paid of course–while an investigation is underway. The Star is back in my good books…

Unfortunately, this is typical corruption that will not be punished adequately, and which was condoned and/or covered up by others in the system. Yet when an idiot had an affair that has nothing to do with politics, people drool…

Jerks of a Feather…

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

As I always say, when people get caught for doing something bad or stupid, it’s rarely a one-time thing. Rather, it’s only the latest in a pattern of bad/stupid behaviour.  That’s because LACK OF JUDGMENT is the number one thing that will cause a person to get into trouble, regardless of how intelligent they are (for unintelligent people, it’s often a toss up between stupidity, lack of judgment, poor impulse control).

Well, this MP Argument for Birth Control, Helena Guergis, is one such person.  Does she deserve to lose her job over throwing a temper tantrum at the airport when she showed up late and had to act like a normal citizen (well, a VIP normal citizen, since anyone else would not be allowed on the plane)?  I’m not sure.  But I guarantee you that this is not an anomaly.  Also, her Argument for Birth Control husband–Rahim Jaffer, a former Conservative Edmonton MP who campaigned on a drug-free platform (among other things, of course)–recently made the papers for cocaine possession and drunk driving.  This was an arrogant, entitled, “beautiful power couple” who were the darlings of the right wing/Conservatives.  Trust me, they are both assholes.  You’ll see…(the COMMENTS section contains the rest of this story).

More on Giambrone (read that aloud a few times…)

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Lily has been commenting in the previous thread about Adam Giambrone’s fall from grace and questioning whether it’s fair to taint his professional life with his personal misdeeds.  I don’t care what he does behind closed doors but I do care about his lack of judgment.  And since day 1 this guy has demonstrated nothing but arrogance, as he refuses to listen to others while displaying poor judgment.  His numerous affairs are just another symptom of these unfavourable traits.

In fact, judging from what I’ve seen and read about his girlfriend, I would say his being with this stupid young woman is a sign of poor judgment.  Okay, we’ll ignore her collagen lips (she does look like Octo-mom, no?) and unflattering pictures that I’m sure she uploaded herself to http://www.drinktheglitter.com/search?q=kristen+lucas .

I agree with Lily that we should question this young woman’s motives in exposing Giambrone.  Her supporters claim she’s bright but how smart can one be when she says something along the lines of “Okay, I’ll stay with you as long as you tell your real girlfriend about us.”  Really?  You think he’s going to tell his girlfriend about you?  And you think she was going to say “okay, Adam, you can keep your girlfriend on the side and I’ll continue to be your “political wife”…”  Idiot.

And yes, some will think I’m being too harsh on the young woman and maybe judging a book by its cover.  But as always, all I can say is that my “spidey sense” has never been wrong thus far and I stand by it again.  My spidey sense tells me that this woman is messed up.  Not just desperate but messed up.  Not psychotic and not psychopathic but just messed up.  Trust me…

On a side note, Giambrone showed how much of an incompetent robot he is when he literally ran out of his press conference after realizing that his scripted apology was missing a page.  Everyone claims that this guy is so bright.  Well, most researchers, clinicians and theorists alike recognize that an important component of intelligence (especially among non-elderly people) is fast “processing speed,” at least with respect to the kind of intelligence they ascribe to Giambone.  He’s not fast on his feet, can’t think for himself and is not flexible minded.  Giambrone, you’re simply a “bright” suck-up with dangerous ambition.  You have yet to prove your worth as a politician in any capacity, other than your ability to kiss Miller’s ass and land plum assignments because you’re such a sycophant.  Shame on you.  Douche.

What Happens when a Psychopath…

Monday, February 1st, 2010

has to be tasered by COPS because he lunged at a neighbour with two knives?  Well, in Ontario, that psychopath gets released on bail the very next day and is not even ordered to stay away from his victim.  Fortunately, Jamie Lee Roche was not injured in the original attack because her boyfriend intervened.  So you know, the COPS told the victim that they would let her know if the psychopath (or psychotic–I don’t know enough yet to determine if he is mentally ill; she claims he is a known drug user so his odd behaviour could be drug-induced, which is no excuse!) would be released but they failed to do so.  Imagine her surprise when she saw him in her apartment building the next day where he also lives.

Click here to be taken to a video of the story (yes, I know, it’s the Sun…but I went there to check out another story I heard on the radio).  And the written story is contained in the COMMENTS section below.

Stepping up to the Plate (yes, I know it’s the wrong sport…)

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Okay, I admit it.  I got choked up reading this story.  In short, a family with a dying three year-old boy–Tucker Patterson–whose motor functions are rapidly deteriorating, were refused access to a skating rink for one of the boy’s few pleasures in life.  The Leafs stepped up and have arranged for a great day for the boy and his family, although the story does not make mention of the boy being invited to watch the game itself.  The story from the Star is in the COMMENTS section.

Tucker Patterson, pictured last summer, will attend the Leafs practice at the ACC after being turned away from a Hamilton-area skating rink.

One More Difference Between the US and Canada

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

A teacher in the US gets a 20-year sentence (4 of which MUST be spent in jail) for having sex with her 13 year-old male student.

In Canada, a 35 year-old “father” gets FOUR years for sexually abusing his three year-old daughter and putting the images on the net for other sick fucks.  In Canada, that translates to about one year in jail–even less depending on how long he had to wait in jail prior to his trial (it was reduced by 28 months but I don’t know how long he was in jail). The only good news is that the judge added another three years to the sentence.  But that is still not enough.  The original judge should be fired.  Canada sucks…

COMMENTS ARE BACK…

The technical problems at Rational Radical have been addressed, so please feel free to leave your comments.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

In honour of the spirit of giving (comments), I wanted to praise this young woman, Sophia Gran-Ruaz, whose charity gives young arrivals at GTA shelters gift bags to ease their transition.  The COMMENTS section below contains the rest of the story about this remarkable young woman.

What a Perfect Metaphor…

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Okay, I know this has happened before and I still say I don’t believe it each time.  That is, how can a woman NOT know she’s pregnant for nine freaking months?!  Everyone pray now that we don’t waste thousands of tax dollars fighting this woman in order to get the baby away from her and adopt it to some competent, mentally capable parents…

Police save unexpected baby born in the toilet (THE CANADIAN PRESS)

WINNIPEG–Heather Richard was told by her doctor she’d never have children. That’s why she was so shocked when she gave birth to a 5-pound baby boy in the toilet. Sunday afternoon, she came home in pain. She went to the bathroom and found out why. “Just fell out, I thought it was my intestines, so I’m freaking out, I’m going to die, but then it’s a little boy,” Richard told CTV Winnipeg on Monday.

Luckily, two Winnipeg police officers were knocking at Richard’s door just as the baby fell into the toilet. They were at the home to arrest Richard on outstanding warrants. As Richard, her brother and a nephew stood looking at the baby in the toilet, not knowing what to do, one of the officers pulled the unresponsive baby from the cold water and started CPR. Baby Isaiah has a skull fracture, likely from hitting the toilet bowl, but was improving. “I’m still in shock, I’m not supposed to have kids,” Richard said.

What are they Smoking?!

Okay, only one piece of fluff tonight: I like the HBO series, Weeds, notwithstanding its many flaws.  But the one thing I could never stand was how the main character’s (Nancy) dead husband’s brother (Andy) was so popular with the women.  Okay, he’s good in bed, I’ll give him that.  But he’s not very good looking and has almost no redeeming qualities, at least not that a woman could recognize before going to bed with him.

So I was so happy when FINALLY, a female character puts him in his place.  It’s Alannis Morrisette, playing a doctor, who shoots his down during a date for being such a loser.  Finally, the series has a bit of reality to it.  And then she ends up falling for him like every other woman.  And she gets engaged to the loser?  Oy…

I normally don’t talk much about TV programs, but this had to be said.  There, I’ve said it…

No Justice….

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I’ve written about the Jane Creba murder a number of times, especially with respect to the conviction of JSR, even though he didn’t fire the bullet that killed innocent Jane.  Well, apparently the same criterion that applied to the conviction of JSR–he didn’t have to be the actual shooter to be found guilty, as long as he was involved in the events leading up to/associated with the murder–does not apply to four other “people” involved in the slaughter.  Please read the COMMENTS section to read about how our just-ass system failed once again (thanks for the heads up, CM!).
